Get a genuine Z 5-speed if you can - best ratios of all the 6cyl L-series 'boxes.
FYI, there were 3 types of 5-speed fitted to 240z's depending on the year/month of build: 1. up to about mid '71, FS5C71A - 3 piece, flange output 2. mid '71 to end '71, FS5C71B - 2 piece, flange output (RARE) 3. end '71 to end of production (08/73), FS5C71B, 2 piece, slip yoke ouput (same as 260Z 'box). I have examples of each of these gearboxes and have one of the type (1) in good nick for sale ($350).
