As clearances are reduced, the valves start to burn out slowly..

Yeah I tried half a tank of unleaded the other day and noticed a bit
of a rattle under load, maybe ill stick to leaded. The motor is
standard and seems to be in perfect condition, carbies aside, so I
dont really want to trash it. When you get valve seat recession and
the motor dies, does it normally do it gracefully or do valves start
hitting pistons etc?
