Valves hitting pistons won't be problem, but performance will 
gradually deteriorate as the valves become more and more shrouded, 
plus valve clearances will be constantly reducing, leading to the 
danger of burnt valves as others have suggested.  But this could take 
many thousands of kms, so wouldn't be too concerned in the short 
term.  Never used LRP so can't comment, but premium unleaded should 
work fine, plus some form of valve lube, perhaps.
