OK I have a few of these, here's one.

Was working thru the night to get the car ready for super sprints on good friday. It was wednesday night and the car had to be presented for rego the next day so we could leave thursday night to get there for friday morning. The car was a Morris 1100, which as you may know haev 'Hydrolastic' suspension which is filled with fluid. I had to change the rear subframe for the RWC and had to drain all the fluid. So its about 3am, I have been trying to be quiet for the last few hours so as not to piss off the neighbours. I finally finish and am just lowering the car down of the axle stands with the jack. However with no fluid the car doesn't stop where i expect it to  the car comes to rest about an inch off the ground, squashing my thumb between the car and the jack.

I just about had to stuff my free fist into my mouth to stop from screaming, then had to shift position (while pinned by my right thumb) to get the handle onto the pump up bit and give it a few pumps to free my rather bruised thumb. Not happy Jan.

PS - That Morris was the one my lil bro killed a year later at the same event. now theres a war story.

ok well i gotta get in on this - i have never had car fall on me - i have a HX V8 ute with T 400 in it i have had heaps of shitty trouble with this gear box - i have had it in and out so many times i can now pull the whole thing out in under an 2 hours haha- any way one day just after finding out the stoopid thing wasnt working i decided to pull the shitty thing out and fix it that day  - well i was on my back undoing all the bolts and stuff - the ute is only just off the ground so im working in a small space = i get the jack up to the gear box and have it set ready to slowly and gently lowering it to the ground - well as i proceeded to pull the gearbox out fromthe engine so it would be able to be lowered  - the bloody thing all of a sudden fell hard on my arm and pinned me - i had forgotten to do up the little knob on the jack to lock it off - so the gear box just fell - on me!!!!!!!!!!!!! i still cant believe it didnt break my arm or hand  - but it hit hard and i was bleeding but i managed to wriggle my way out and go rest for a bit hahahah  - meanwhile while im wriggling there is gearbox oil going everywhere hahaha - and im swimming in it hahahahha

When I was fab'ing an exhaust for my car I was getting pretty involved and moving lengths of pipe around then there was a huge 'crack' and I was knocked over backwards, feeling very 'tense'. In my excitement I'd smashed a length of tubing thru the light bulb and electrocuted myself. I was probably pretty lucky considering and could have been swimming towards the light... Now know how a piece of metal feels when the ARC welder hits it and sure ain't much fun :)
