Andrew,
Yer its no easy job, i realise that, but most of the parts that i need i can get through the guys i know with silvia's. The guy i got the loom and computer off bought it from AGI in perth, he crashed his silvia and only needed the radiator support panel and a few other bits for the panel beater. The puter and loom and other sensors were in there > Sounds like a serious job.Where did you get it from as im curious as a mate > bought a ca18det from jap wreck last week but didnt need the ecu or gearbox. > A bit of engineering and you could mount the nissan cas to the front of the L cam. Yer some one did this with a supercharged L20, but i'd prefer not to do that as i think this would be more hassle than it was worth. Im sure there is some other way to either mount the CAS or tell the computer what it wants to here. > The ecu does switch the fuel pump and mounting the det sensor wouldnt be to hard but >there's a lot of other stuff you would need. The AFM,FICD valve,AAC valve, air >regulator, temp sensor,Throttle body with idle swith and tps, pressure >soleniod, injectors with dropping resistor, coils and transistor, oxy sensor, speed >sensor?,ignition and voltage imput.I guess if you have all of this sitting around it >might be worth while. Yer true, the motor its going on is a 2.4L stroker and im looking for a relatively easy way to inject it. I know Wolf of something like that is probably easier, but i like to do things differently! I've got a custom plenum that bolts up to the weber manifold that has a 80mm Falcon throttle body on it and i also have a 300ZX AFM to use. Pretty much all the other sensors are on the half cut or i'll be able to get them pretty easily. Im not planning to run it like this origionally. THe motor will go in with twin webers on it, then later i'll inject it. THe computer and loom cost me a couple of drinks last night when we went out to the clubs, thats my kind of payment system But if you have to get this stuff > from the wreckers then it would probably be cheaper to buy a complete > ca18det.The one we got last week the guy was asking $1300 for the > motor, box, ecu and loom with a stuffed turbo.I didnt bother to check how > complete the loom and ancillaries were as we only wanted the motor so he took a bit >off the price.
