I can't really think of any way that a stuck PCV would cause you to use that much oil. The fact that the smoke occurs with the engine under load is suggestive of rings or something in that area. Anyway if you want to clean the PCV, on the L24 in a 240Z it is screwed into the carb balance tube that 'joins' the two 'halves' of the manifold on a Z. Looking at the engine from the air cleaner side, there is a tube that comes out of the block near the front just below the thermostat housing. There should be a hose that attaches to this tube, this hose goes back underneath and behind the carbs, and then does a couple of bends to connect to the PCV. Simply disconnect the hose from the PCV, unscrew the valve (17mm spanner, I think) and check that it 'rattles'. If so, its probably fine, if not, soak in petrol overnight as it's probably just carboned up. What oil are you using, BTW ?? - I once had an L26 that had done heaps of k's and smoked like a mongrel with your common-or-garden Valvoline's and the like. Changed to Penrite HPR30 and the thing hardly used a drop (well, a LOT less, anyway :-) ). Might be worth a try.... --membersozdat------------------------------------------------------- OZDAT Mailing List Please Note:- Send (un)subscribe requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Send submissions to [EMAIL PROTECTED] No unauthorised redistribution of this email http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/index.htm http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/listindex.html http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------
