Hi Dan you can do that or do what I did and buy the complete leaf spring off the shelf with extra leaf, reverse eye ect ect (Penrith Pedders have them) John Talyor has a lot of gear for 1200's as he races one and has had quite a bit of experience both in ralying and circuit. from memory they where around $300 for the pair.
