Yup paul thats about it, it does splash up there, but also on the side of the rods there is a small hole that oil squirts out of and lubricates the bore. Its not accurate or anything but it does enough. There are also some motors that have oil squirters with in their crank girdle, i think the CA18DET and SR20DET are like this, their DE motors dont get them thou. Im not too sure about this, never having rebuilt one.
