9 litres for 120ks is 7.5 ltrs/100ks or ~35 mpg and I consider that to be
pretty reasonable for a L16 especially at the speed you were travelling.
Just think that if you drove at legal speeds you'd expect 40mpg from your
engine - a 32/36 is a very economical carbie if setup right, and it's quite
normal to use a choke to start with them. There is nothing wrong with having
to use a choke especially a manual as at least you can decide when it's OK
to turn it off.

I'm running a l16 at the moment... I got 120ks for 8 dollars (maybe 9
litres) on LRP. I have a feeling that the carbie isnt running the petrol
too lean cause its a pain in the ass to start cold with no choke. This
was driving at 140k down a freeway at full revs... it doesnt sound that
good, does it?
