They only do it when there is some warmth in them, not when they are

Metal Kings are full of brass and are made for
heavy use, its normal for them to squeel a bit if used lightly for a while
(glazed, as you guessed) . A quick run down a long winding hilly
road should fix them for a while, or take them out and roughen them up.

Hi all,
My Metal Kings
in my 1600 (200B brakes) have started to make a slight squeal when i slow
the car down gently but goes away if i brake harder. Is this a sign of
glazed pads or the Pads themselves ( the brand), any ideas? If there
glazed, how do i unglaze them. I`ve had them for about 6 months and they
heve never made a sound.
