Tony. Nahh mate it is some additive they have in LRP. As I flushed the LRP out of my tank filled it with Ultimate 98 and the car stopped blowing smoke. As far as I can tell it (the additive) that replaces the lead is some sort of oil based additive. Hense the smoke, well tailpipe smoke. It wasdn't really bad but you could see the car was running. Any hows I will never use LRP in any vehicle again. I am happy with ultimate 98. I have had my 1600 wagon for somewhere between 3-4 years now and Ultimate 98 hasn't broken the head yet. Also in all that time it has never used a drop of oil. Go the 31+ year old L series hea.
