Just a hint to Melbournians to be on the lookout
for a new Datto on the road in the eastern suburbs, Andrew Greenbury's
immaculate 1600. It looks mint! Congratulations
Andrew.
Externally, it looks faily stock except for 15 inch
TRX rims and a nice, stainless, 2.? inch exhaust. But its loaded with
Andrew's personal touches. Check the brightwork, lights, panel fit, all
perfection. The Mazda instruments behind the Datsun dash binnacle look
original, and Andrew says the speedo is spot on for accuracy.
PS
Andrew's Dad got his L18 purring on the
weekend, after a number of tuning places couldn't diagnose a simple
backfire problem. It turned out to be severely retarded ignition
timing. The timing problem appears to be the result of mixing L16 and L18
front pulleys and timing markers. Makes you wonder about the skills in the
auto tuning trade.
