First backup all your data!!
But sounds like you got an old motherboard... find out the make of the hard
drive, and download a drive overlay (made by the manufacturer) which loads
at bootup... I've been running one on my 20Gig for a year or two without a
problem, I even left it on there when I got a new motherboard and it still
runs happily.
As always take care when tampering with stuff like this... always read up
first, especially with BIOS updates!
