Hi chris,

I would guess that you have Koni "Reds" in the front, as these are the most
common. Experimentation with the shock settings is the only way to get it
right for the intended use (track may be harder than the road setting for
instance). If this is the case, then they will be rebound adjustable only.
I'm not sure what you mean by "upwards motion", but rebound is the opposite
to compression, so it actually adjusts the rate in which the shock extends
(wheel moving away from the car- downwards). If you wind too much rebound
into the shock, and don't have heavy enough springs, the rate in which the
shock extends may not be faster enough, and it will effectively suck the car
to the ground (so to speak), as the shock will not fully extend before it is
compressed (by the next bump).

Handling and ride will always be a trade off. I had a number of people ask
me if I could get my race car registered. Even if I could, there was no way
I would want to drive it in the street. 30 minutes on a nice smooth race
track was long enough - forget about driving down Parramatta road!

Hope that helps,

Mark.
