Rob how much were you lookin to spend on the clutch. If youre lookin at buyin new and it comes to more than 400 bucks with pressure plate let me know before you buy and you can inspect my clutch as it is similar to what mark is sayin below (sprung centre for normal drivin with 4 puck for better bite). As i said before not tryin to make you buy it, but if youre lookin at spendin a similar amount, it might be worth your while inspecting this clutch (literally havent used it). Andrew Smith, if you know of anyone chasin a custom intercooler, or z18/20 or an fj20 box or a clutch like the one im sellin feel free to let me know (even the fuel supply if you know of anyone doin a efi conversion),

i use a Standard pressure plate with Sprung centre Ceremic button clutch plate looks like normal clutch plate but with 4 pucks on it you can drive the clutch like normal and ride the clutch when you need to but when you abuse the clutch it holds i have never had any problems with L20 dyno with 153HP at wheels
hope this helps as i have tried lots of different types of clutches and this was the only one i found that would hold up to my abuse

It is nearly time to put my worked L20B rally motor into the Datsun 1600.
What are my clutch options? My intended use is mainly for rallying on sealed roads and motorkhanas but also has to be driveable on the street occasionally. The twin 45 Webered motor apparently puts out 200 HP (150kW) at the flywheel. The flywheel is aluminium but with a hardened steel insert faceplate wear surface. The gearbox I will use is probably gonna be my trusty old 240K 5-speed or an untested Stanza SSS box. The clutch that came with the motor was a 3-puck brass button clutch but it is nearly gone and I've been told that they are pretty much either on or off with virtually no slippage (scarey in the wet).
I checked my archives and Mark K says an RB30 VL Commodore clutch will fit an L/Z series motor. Is this a heavier duty clutch than your standard L20B Bluebird replacement?

Now I don't want to redrill the flywheel, so will a standard type heavy duty clutch suffice?
Can I get the 3-puck brass button redone?
Sorry to waffle on but clutch changes are not my favourite job, I just want something with some slip that will stand up to some thrashing.
