Chris,
Sounds exactly the same as the clutch that was on the engine when I bought
it.
4 pucks on the clutch plate with springs around the centre hole (is that
what you mean by "sprung centre"?) The guy I bought it off said it was a
"brass button ceramic plate clutch". It has had some use and is nearly down
to the rivets thus the need for replacement.
I don't know much about clutches although I've replaced a few standard and
standard/heavy duty ones and not having a car hoist in my back shed, I hate
changing them so I want something that will last.

So far these are my options;

1. Standard pressure plate with sprung centre ceramic button 4 puck clutch
-recommended by Chris (FJ MAN) and Mark Brettle

2. Daiken extreme 4 puck sprung centre rated to 600hp very heavy duty
pressure plate and hardened steel facing will cost close to $500
-recommended by Andrew (Smith I think),probably overkill for my piddly
200Hp

3. RB30 (vl commodore) clutch plate will fit a l/z series ?
   -info from Mark K

4. Bluebird standard clutch kit part no. R170N for $121

5.Bluebird Heavy-duty kit price t.b.a.?

6. Fairlady clutch kit part no. R171N for $143

7. A 4 puck with a combination of 2 organic and 2 ceramic pucks.
  -recommended by Errol ...interesting

Thanks for all those who gave their opinion -some of these were dug out of
my archives.

Now it's decision time.....hmmm..

Regards
Rob P
