A good mate of mine imports parts from Japan. He is also a Datsun nut
and 10 years ago had a lethal 1600 he imported with an amazing rear
xmember conversion and spaceframe setup.

ANYWAY

He has told me some absolute horror stories with importers. He reckons
the way to go is to not to go to wreckers that import, but rather whole
car importers. They have more control over what goes in the containers
in Japan and are more interested in customer service.

Cheers
Brad

I thought the Adelaide scene was a bit better than this - seems not.

I can't say that I've any experiences along these lines with SSS
Automotive in Sydney, although someone out there will probably have a
tale of woe with just about all of these type of business. SSS have
always told me Yes/No/coming in the next batch/the price is $$$ and I've
never had a major dispute with them yet, only little things like a
sensor missing here, and a part shipped as turbo and it's actually a NA
part annoying, but they've always done the right thing.

API have been around for what seems ages, they've closed the direct
outlet in Canberra but you can still get stuff through Sydney and they
honour warranty work through local businesses. Sorry to hear you're
having some troubles, 700 klms is a bit far to come home empty handed.

regards
Terry

All been there!!!

Its always hard to trust!!!! Especially when you deal
with seconhand stuff!!

My frav is when you buy something off them and it does
not work, and then they say it was your fault, you put
it in wrong or some BULLSHIT!!

So much for a 30 day warranty!!!
