Pretty much as you say. There is an article on bluebirds.com for a Zed pump conversion for a 1600 that we followed as a guide the first time and it covered positioning etc, although not all 1600 fuel tanks are the same inside. If you go that way then when you remove the R31 Pintara/Skyline from it's tank it's pretty obvious what's involved. We also use the R31 filler for the 1600 which is required if the car is going to be engineered for turbo.

Terry

do you know is involved in doing the conversion?

I am guessing you cut a round hole in the top for the cradle, bolt some sort of surge tank/swirl pot inside the tank?

where would be the best place to cut the hol without hitting a baffle etc?

cheers

scored a free 180sx fuel tank today. pin hole leak, get it repaired.
came with filler neck and everything, we had to get a replacement one for a
car in our yard, from a wrecker it's only $140 without the pump.
they sit under the car and allow for the spare tyre well. i will need to
cut and reweld the spare tyre well a little shallower as it's made for a
space saver, but i will be happy with the
spare sitting higher into the boot, i don't ever use it for anything else.
