my mate has used skyline plastic tank, but that was in the back of a 1200 ute, (underneath),

i was thinking of taking the spare tire well out and using a 180sx tank underneath, or just making brackets to fit it in place of original

i used my original  tank, but welded in another breather which became my fuel outlet, i'm running a low pressure, hi volume volvo pre pump, which sits on the bottom of the tank. with an external VL turbo.
the only problem with 1 pump internal is that they get very $$$ once
u need to upgrade. ie more fuel or pressure. Petrojet recommend that i won't need a surge, as the volvo pre will easily keep the fuel up. but as the old tanks don't baffles. i will have to find out?

yeah, i was looking at using a 300zx twin turbo pump, they bolt into 180sx tanks, or maybe a r33 gtr pump.  they should flow enough hopefully. have to do more research on flow rates.  my main aim is to not have external pumps, it's neater, and something i would like to do, even if it's a lot of hassle.
i think retrofitting a tank will be easier than welding in extra baffles and a fuel well and making provisions for a bolt in, in-tank pump.

Subject: Fuel tanks

I'm looking at retro fitting a fuel tank to a 1600

I was thinking a late model fuel tank (with baffles and in tank fuel pump) out of anything, nissan, otherwise, probably nissan, due to familiarity with performance pumps etc.  Anyone know some wreckers of otherwise with 200sx, or 180sx, or any 1990->on cars that they can measure up external dimensions and mounting points of their respective fuel tanks?

I am considering cutting out the spare tire well if necessary to fit (e.g.)  a 180sx fuel tank which sits under the boot and moving the spare inside the boot behind the seat.

I'm not sure how much of an effect it would have on weight distribution moving the tank further back, any comments?

This removes the need for a surge tank and external fuel pumps in my opinion.

help? anyone? get out your measuring tapes.......
