dont know if this will will help but.....

my L16 runs twin su type hitachi carbs
the car is set up to run rich & the plugs were fouling when i did hill climbs, it was ok for street use etc.
I just went to autobarn (if you dont have aotubarn near you it is like supercheap)  and said give me the hottest plugs that you have.  they were $4.00 each & he said they were the hottest one you could buy off the shelf - NGK brand.

I know it's not very technical & i didnt work out the heat number etc , but it fixed my problem & seems to be ok for normal driving & the circuit as well.

cheers Jeff

Subject: Couple of queries again

Does anyone know the following?

Where can I get longer wheel studs to go into a 1600?

Where can I get the Octagonal shaped tie rods that are stronger and of course longer?

And last but not least what would be the best type of spark plug to run in a mild L18with twin 40s
