hi, i`m not sure about the other stuff but, make sure there  is a bush in the back of the crank  for the  input shaft, and make SURE u put  grease on it.  when u get a sintered bronze bush, u  stand it  up on  ya thumb, fill  the bush up with engine/gearbox oil, then  get another finger then push real hard for about 5-10 seconds, then u will see the oil start to ooze out the  tiny weeny holes inthe bronze bush,,,,....

plus still put some grease on it.

Subject: Stanza gearbox swap options

Hi list, a friend of mine has a 1979 Stanza (NOT a SSS) with a stuffed automatic gearbox.
I have a 4-speed manual Datsun 1600 / 510 box in good nick. Can we swap the auto with the 1600 manual box? Is it a straight bolt in or does the tailshaft or x-member need modifications?
What other manual boxes are simple bolt-ins for auto Stanzas?

Cheers,
Rob P
