I mean the needle that is operated by the float. When the float chamber is full it shuts off the fuel supply. A Gregorys manual will show how to set the float level correctly, but that won't fix the problem if the needle and seat aren't sealing. The seat and/or the needle tip (can't remember which) is rubber and will deteriorate with age and let fuel past.
