You have to be careful of the cheap versions - the resin they use can actually be quite flammable (which is not helped by the fact that carbon fibre itself will burn at high temp). A friend of mine had an original N1 GTR R32, which mind you was so quick it was obscene, and it had a chinese made carbon fibre bonnet when he bought it. He sourced an original bonnet and replaced it, and the CF bonnet was sold to a young bloke with a GTS-T. The youngster had a slight underbonnet fire one night which turned into an inferno due to the bonnet. Spectators reckon the fire was quite small and no-one lifted the bonnet therefore containing it until an extinguisher could be found, but once the flames licked the bonnet it was BREAK OUT THE GUITAR SLIM WE HAVE A CAMPFIRE.
