The RB30's were built here in OZ and were not available in Japan.

We also made our own gearboxes for the HR31 S2 and S3. On bluebirds the
housing had NCMA (Nissan Motor Company Australia) cast into it.
The plant closed in 1990 after Nissan pulled out of OZ production wise : (

"Passage" skyline NZ new 1989.
Looks like a Holden engine SOHC ,,
Nothing like a RB20DE to look at,
I do belive the RB20DE head will fit the R3.0cc SOHC Nissan engine

I also have been told Nissan JP done a deal with Holden Oz and they swaped
engines for gearbox's..

hence the holden dunnydore 5 speed is a bolt in for any Skyline R32 Auto
and the Skyline GTE has the same engine as some Holdens dunny's.
