Errol As usual, a wealth of valuable information. I knew I was on the right track. Just didnt know how.... Lowering unsprung weight was one of the best ways to improve mcycle handling back in the days I rode/raced them. I didnt realise u could break it down to a set of numbers tho. Have to give that a lot more thought. you mentioned "Sumitomo 2 spots with 250mm vented discs and 60mm ID springs, get the strut/brake assembly mass down to 20KG". What donor vehicle provides 250 mm vented discs? Thanks again Cheers Mick PS I never actually thought of 'weighing' the assembly. HAHA

The sprung to unsprung > ratio for the stock 510 is (240kg corner weight, divided by the 32.5kg > unsprung mass)= 7.38:1. With a 54kg unsprung mass, this ratio becomes > 4.44 .
