got quoted 2.5g to replaced the box with a series 4 box thats done under 50,000 km. replace the tail shaft ( to match the new box? ) replace the clutch and all the hydrolics. Sound fair?

Gearbox. If first and reverse are on the same throw most likely a shift fork to shift rail roll pin broken :-)

Hey guys. sorry to bring a mazda into this, but you guys know your stuff. just got a series 1 rx7. the gears sometimes get stuck in gear.. eg. at traffic lights, you go to move forward a tiny bit in first gear, and then its stuck in first, cant get it back into neutral. the same thing happens with reverse.
Is this a clutch problem or a problem with the gear box?
