Also, I am assuming that ca18de rings are the same as ca18det ones?? they have the same bore size so i'm guessing de ones will be fine, can anyone confirm this?

Hastings Chrome Molly get my stamp of approval - I've never had a problem
with them over many years of thrashing Datto engines.

ACL have also been good to me over the years but they are pricey for me
personally to buy as I get trade discount at Repco and they stock Hastings
(Made in US of A but we wont hold that against them).

I am rebuilding a ca18det to standard specs, no forged pistons or anything
special for me as my wallet wont allow it..
So far i have been told to get chrome rings not cast ones and i have looked
up prices for ACL rings and bearings and they are a good price..
What other brands should i be looking at?
I just want to know that whatever i end up using will last well, so if
anyone has used a particular brand or type and had good results then let me
know, especially if it was on a ca18det or similiar..
