Hastings Chrome Molly get my stamp of approval - I've never had a problem with them over many years of thrashing Datto engines.
 
ACL have also been good to me over the years but they are pricey for me personally to buy as I get trade discount at Repco and they stock Hastings (Made in US of A but we wont hold that against them).

I am rebuilding a ca18det to standard specs, no forged pistons or anything special for me as my wallet wont allow it..
So far i have been told to get chrome rings not cast ones and i have looked up prices for ACL rings and bearings and they are a good price..
What other brands should i be looking at?
I just want to know that whatever i end up using will last well, so if anyone has used a particular brand or type and had good results then let me know, especially if it was on a ca18det or similiar..
