hastings hey? where abouts did you get them through??
Did you get chrome rings or cast?? what does everyone suggest?
It wont be running huge boost but it will probably see 15 or 16 psi once or twice on a cold night with the right tune...
oh and the cost to give it a freshen up should be around $750, which is about the same price as a motor only from the few importers i've tried..
I'm going with the rebuild because at least then i know the motors history and that way it should keep going for a fair while too..

I am rebuilding a ca18det to standard specs, no forged pistons or anything special for me as my wallet wont allow it..
So far i have been told to get chrome rings not cast ones and i have looked up prices for ACL rings and bearings and they are a good price..
What other brands should i be looking at?
I just want to know that whatever i end up using will last well, so if anyone has used a particular brand or type and had good results then let me know, especially if it was on a ca18det or similiar..
