I think the PA10 160J is a Stanza -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of rclough Sent: Sunday, 6 November 2005 11:14 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Datsun 160J (PA10)
Hello Antony I dont think the 160J (I think it was also called a "Violet"?) was sold in Australia. Therefore no one knows much about them here in Australia. Only a few old rally enthusiasts, like me, who remember seeing the "works" Datsun Violets running in Australian Championship Rallys in the late 1970's, using 260HP EFI Lseries engines. I know you had them in Kenya. Didnt one win the East Africa Safari - driven by Sheka Mehta (cant remember how to spell his name)? If so your 160J would be as legendary in Kenya, as a P510 (Datsun 1600) is here in Australia. I think you should be able to modify a W53 head to run the EFI injectors. You would need to drill and tap the large central hole above each inlet port runner and grind or drill out a small tapered channel downstream of the injector to allow the fuel to enter the ports smoothly. Just as you described. I know some have done this in Australia. If you are running a mechanical distributor, how are you timing the fuel injection? What fuel pump/pressure regulator did you use on the EFI setup? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Antony Maina" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, November 08, 2005 1:59 AM Subject: Datsun 160J (PA10) > Hi all, > > Why is this datsun model not a popular? > > This is going to be a little longer.
