Mark, If I can't find a good working wiper motor off a 1600, then I use a  83-87 Mazda 626 Wiper motor. It's a good replacement for the 1600 unit, will bolt to the 1600 mounting triangle, just needs a little work to connect to the 1600 wiper arms. It is a lot smoother and definitely faster than the 1600 unit and with the Mazda switch you get intermittent as a bonus.
