Hi,
Hello Timur,
About a week ago at Devaamo I was fortunate to meet with a bunch of Nemo
guys. Together we discussed and debated ideas to move forward from the
current situation to one where Nemo looks nice and is a pleasure to use.
We feel that currently, the whole Nemo UI looks like just a cheap copy.
We think we could do better than that.
That visual copy of Harmattan is one point (in my opinion it is a dead end).
Another thing is I really cannot understand how it is possible, that
such thing as logotype of Nemo Mobile was discussed openly here on the
mailing list for certain amount of time, there was voting etc. and when
it comes to the Nemo UI (which is for me very important stuff) some
celebrity can pop in, change Nemo (unique in its way) UI to a
Harmattan-like look'n'feel copy in one or two days, not even discussing
it here and listening to different people views on that matter.
In my opinion (but again it is only my opinion with which you don't have
to agree) something is completely wrong if a community driven,
meritocratically governed project for two days can switch to celebrity
driven development.
Regards,
Filip
PS. I don't mind if someone would fix the bugs that are in Mer/Nemo
Bugzilla in such a fast way. But that is not so spectacular to tweet
about, make buzz and gather wide audience focus and attention. I more
appreciate people that do the hard, regular work in the project and do
some small improvements, fix bugs that most of the people don't even notice.
