Hi

I am preparing a major refactorization of an existing platform
(currently implemented in RESTful Rails) with the expressed purpose of
making it more service-oriented. There might be an external demand to
use SOAP for the web service communication and now I am wondering how
the support for SOAP is in Merb?

As you all know the Rails community is moving further and further away
from SOAP, which is a negative thing when the services are used within
a legacy context where Java EE is king. I would like to do the
refactorization using Merb+DM but the potential lack of SOAP support
might be a showstopper.

So my concrete question is: What is the current status of SOAP usage
in Merb and what are your feelings on the future role of SOAP within
the community?

Regards

Erik
