I'm using soap4r, but it was a _pain_ to start with.

merb supports anything that you have in a gem, but it doesn't have a
specific plugin for soap, no. But you're right the general support of soap
in ruby is definitely pathetic. Anyone working in a legacy environment needs
to work with SOAP or XML, regardless of current fads.
