never heard anything about only running higher pressures in the front 
tires in my autocrossing days; seemed we got just as far up on the 
sidewalls on the rear tires as we did on the fronts,...
    the only caveat seemed to be with the FWD cars; they liked a little 
more pressure in the front tires than the RWD cars of the same 
weight,... (i raced both.)
