I ran diesel purge through the 85 300CD, but when I attempted to change
the main fuel filter I couldn't tighten the filter more than halfway up the
threaded bolt in the filter housing. I assume that the threads on the bolt
are butchered, although visually they looked normal. I tried a couple
filters but the same problem - wouldn't tighten past a certain point. :((
So what is this bolt called and is it dealer only? Does anyone have the
part number?
