Look for leaks.

It could be either the master or the slave.  I would advise a
close look at both unless you know they have be dealt with
recently.

It would be a good time to flush the all the brake fluid and
clean out the brake fluid tank.  And if I were replacing parts
on the clutch circuit, I would also get a new supply hose.
