I called on the ‘87 300TD that Alex posted to the list. The buyer is waiting for a call from an interested party by tomorrow morning one way or the other. Two people did that to me when I had my 240D up for sale and never called back! I’ll be looking at it tomorrow morning if the person flakes which I hope they do!
Now, onto the questions. The car has a few minor issues, 1. a window motor out: How difficult is S124 window motor replacement? The replacement motor is included with the sale. 2. The highbeams are stuck on, and they have the switch to replace it. Is this a common failure mode, not the switch at all, or other possibilities? 3. The tranny sometimes shifts hard is most likely vacuum related, not too worried about that. 4. Bad antenna: This is also included with the sale. Sunroof works, AC does not. I’m getting good feelings about this one. It has 250K+ miles, and the engine, according to the seller, is solid. Where is the casting number on the head to determine if it’s a #14, #17 or #22 head? TIA!
