I think you have the MB GM compressor. If so: Nope! entirely different. Mixed arguments about GM compressors. Some say only a new one from Q because a GM GM compressor won't lube mounted in an MB. (upside down.) Others claim they have used GM GM compressors in place of MB GM compressor by modifying.

I have some extra MB GM compressors, so I am not concerned for now.

THe japanese swap is for the japanese compressor. You can find a compressor and swap the clutch and mounting.
