The ML had one of those trannies - Kaleb has it now. You just pried off the
cap on what should have been the dip stick tube, and poof - a serviceable
tranny. You then buy the universal tranny dip stick (from Q at that time)
and you're in business.

I think there is a law about having to support a product for 7 years. it
doesn't say that the price of those parts has to be reasonable, nor that
they will be in stock at your local dealer, but should not be
un-attainable. We used to hammer computer companies about that all the
time. They could get 6 and 7 year old motherboards for us, but they would
be VERY expensive.
