My buddy Hans, who was trained at the MB mechanic's school in the 50's
said he has absolutely no interest in any Benz built after 2003. All
junk, all the time, and filled with intractable computer problems and
non-repairable parts. Build quality is poor, many of them have rust
issues, and they look like jap cars.
There's a 2007 sedan at the U-Pull-It, second one of that age I've
seen there with no body damage, meaning it's so expensive to repair it
was junked.
And my brother is replacing a heater core in a W140 for a friend --
plastic tanks warp and fracture, leaks coolant all over the floor.
Plastic tanks on a heater core that takes 20 hours to R&R? Stupidity
walking and talking.
