I don't know how you conclude that, it sounds like when your system goes into defrost, the heat strips are turned on, and the breaker for those trips off. Outside unit then shuts off because the heat strips are off, so defrost mode won't work. Solve the breaker trip issue - heater strips over sized? -- Max Dillon Charleston SC '87 300TD '95 E300
