You buy the connector and do it yourself. For the pickup I bought a less than $20 wifi adapter that hooks up to my phone. I can read all the codes off the computer. The VW system is vastly superior, its got way more extras. $250 was kind of spendy but its paid for itself many times over. -Curt

How do you counter an expensive diagnosis from a tech based on computerized troubleshooting? I've got the VCDS cable to hook my laptop up to the car, the code, last I checked, was an implausible signal from the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor. The MAF occasionally reads 0 air flow while the engine RPM is not zero. This might explain the whooshing noise we hear sometimes and why the car seems down a little on power. So I'll be ordering a MAF. Newer cars just need a different set of tools. I for one appreciate the computer helping me to troubleshoot rather than just throwing parts at the thing... -Curt _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
