Maybe I'll try again in a few months - sometimes people make mistakes when
looking thru files -
When I called about my 78 240D a long time ago they said my VIN wasn't
in the system - and the only explanation was that it might be a gray market
car. But I cannot for the life of me understand why someone would import a
240D that's loaded (everything except leather seats) when they could buy one
at their local dealer and not worry about service/warranty problems.
I suspect their filing methods may be less than perfect.

What it shoud have said is, MB says "there is no window sticker or dealer
invoice in the file".
The carfax tells me it was purchased/leased from a dealer in Mass. so I
don't know why nothings on file.

They do not always have the sticker, in which case, they have a copy of the
invoice.
Did they tell you they have no info or something?
