Hi I have checked the vacuum lines and the tee connectors, all ok.
Does the air only ever come out the defrost vents (windshield or wind
screen)? If so I would first check your vacuum lines and make sure they
are
correct under the hood. The vents are controlled using vacuum, thus most
common problem is the black plastic Tee on driver's fender cracks and the
climate control goes to defrost all the time.

Hi all need to know if the compressor control unit next to the fuel relay
controls just the compressor ?.
As the dialled temp of 20 C approaches the centre vents air all gets
diverted to the screen. Should it not go the side vents and then come back
as the temp deviates?

About jumping ac clutch; please unplug ac spade lug connector before
applying voltage to test clutch; i applied voltage to + side with engine
running, climate control on & it burned a trace off my climate control
circuit board; after a lot of other checking; finally found a blown fuse,
on a/c?? or OVERLOAD relay under pass. side of dash; pull lower panel &
look (or feel up at right side) for relay; pull relay out & check fuse,
mine was blown; on 85 300D; not sure if yours has this overload relay or
not; hope this helps a bit???; Steve
another thing; it is possible to hook climate control UPSIDE DOWN, & plug
in; this will blow out your TEMP. control module
