I feel the same way - now we see bullet holes in people where the old John Wayne moves the guys just fell down. As far Pvt Ryan - the "storming the beach scene" was so realistic it gave me a new feeling of respect for the 17,18 and 19+ year olds that actually did that! I'd read about the water turning trd from blood but seeing it always has a bigger impact.

Being on that beach must have been ... well, words fail me.

I'm watching a John W western now and although it's set in 1853 they all use Winchester lever actions made in 1866 so the realism suffered a tad. I guess having to use muzzle loaders would have slowed the action down a bit.

And in Luther's defense, at his age I was only flying off in a aircraft on
USCG rescues (go see The Guardian! - I found only three tech flaws in the
entire movie).  He, on the other hand, is getting "stuff" to your door.

might just have to thank Luther for the stuff you buy at the grocery
store.
