If you live in an urban or suburban area, your access point could easily be hijacked, for one. Allow that to happen and watch your bandwidth drop as the hijacker is an online gamer or is hosting bootleg pron sites.
Also, if I can get into your access point, I can get into your computer. That means anything connected to your network can be compromised. That's just the beginning.
