Maybe old Kirby was shocked that is was taken out and put into use..... My Kirby, that I bought in '80 when I got married (it's almost a rite of passage in Illinois to but a Kirby after getting' hitched), is still going strong....but I must say the Dyson I bought 5 years ago sucks circles around Kirby. Those Dysons are da bomb. They are a must if you have dogs or cats.
