WinPatrol is a dandy system watchdog. It will let you know if
important system files and directories have been tampered with.
If it yelps just after you install a new program, it's probably
just the program. If not, there may be a virus, worm, or trojan
mucking about.

It also makes it easy to see what is currently running as well
as what is set to load during boot.
