Hi Mitual, What kind of application are you trying to record on? From your subject line it looks like you are recording on a Windows application. As you are new to QTP please try recording an application opening via browser and the login part.
You can try recording on the Mercury Tours website which you will find under Start -> Hp QTP -> Sample applications.
